Toulouse is a french city, in south France, also called The red city. In 2007 Toulouse’s population past one million. The river that go across Toulouse is the Garonne, it was a very important fluvial way untill the XIX century.

Discovering Eurocopter

Two weeks ago I go to a training course in Eurocopter, a firm that produce and sell helicopters all around the world. I have seen each sector of the business, each day I went to another sector. Eurocopter is originally a french company, based in Marignane. And the brasilian branch is called HelisBras for Helicopteros do Brasil. More than ten thausands helicopter were shelled since the begining of Eurocopter in 1992. About one month ago, brazilian government order 50 helicopter to the Brazilian Air Force (F.A.B.) Those helicopter will be made in Itajuba, Minas Gerias ; this is where the firm has based all the building equipments. The first machine will be release in July 2010.

Hidalgo

Yesterday night I saw a movie with two friends. The movie calls Hidalgo. This is about an American cow-boy called Frank Hopkings. He is the sun of an American man with an Indian woman, and he earns his money by running in endurances races in company of his horse Hidalgo, a Mustang from the Oklahoma planes. Frank is also a messenger for the US Army.

Some years later, he’s obliged to play in the Buffalo Bill Wild West show to earn money. However, he is considered by all the Americans as a legend, and the faster rider of the entire world.

This is how a sheikh wants Hopkings in the longest race of the Arabian world, the Ocean of Fire, long of 5000 kilometers through against the greatest Arabian horses and Bedouins riders.

But the race it’s a real survival and the Bedouins don’t like that a mustang can ever win against the purest Arabians horses.

Flowers for Algernon

Two weeks ago I read a novel by Daniel Keyes called Flowers for Algernon. The story is about a man, Charlie Gordon, who lives in New York, near Central Park. This man has a normal life, with an IQ of 68. Then he meets a doctor, who promises to do a surgery to increase his intelligence. And it works well… too well, indeed. Charlie’s IQ exceeds 220. Then the problems begin for a man who has the highest IQ in the world but who is a child inside his head. He can’t control his emotions. He discovers that the world is not like what he thought, people are scared of him, and others do not like him because of his difference. He doesn’t like this new world, a world of injustice and ignorance. At the end, the only friend he really has is Algernon, the laboratory mouse, which was the object of the experimental treatment before it was applied to Gordon. However, she dies after some months, which explains the title of the book, Flowers for Algernon.
